Mauermuseum - Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited the Wall Museum – Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie on December 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and made a brief press statement.

Stoltenberg called for standing in the way of authoritarian regimes. Otherwise everyone would pay a high price if aggressors won or autocracies triumphed over freedom and democracy. So supporting Ukraine is the best way to support a lasting peace,” he said.

This year our museum turned 60 years old. It was founded in 1962 by Dr. Rainer Hildebrandt (1914 – 2004) and the last island of freedom right on the border.

It shows the history of the Wall and what happened there, the objects of escape from the successful escapes, the history of NATO since it was founded in 1949 and the struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom and independence since the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
