History

We opened the first exhibit, "It Happened at the Wall", in a small flat. On 14 June 1963 we moved into our current location at the Haus am Checkpoint Charlie. The Mauermuseum - Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie has helped write history, became an oasis of freedom and is now bringing history back to life.
Standing up for each other

Our work

Checkpoint Charlie represents standing up for each other, freedom and human rights. People who are still living in divided countries dream of unity. And Checkpoint Charlie is a place of freedom for all, a place where world history manifests itself.
