Cookie Policy (EU)

Your decision
“Manage consent” lets you separately allow, reject or withdraw statistics, campaign measurement and the external map for the future. Allowing the map does not allow advertising. Necessary functions are treated separately. This choice covers this website; the ticket shop has its own process.
Storage technologies
Cookies, local browser storage and cached files may be used. Durations shown are maximum or standard periods; browsers may shorten them. A new choice or use may update expiry. Deleting cookies does not erase data already transmitted to providers.
| Technology | Purpose and provider | Duration and permission |
|---|---|---|
| cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing; where applicable cmplz_consented_services | Our website / Complianz: choices including rejection, banner state and version. | Up to 180 days; not visitor analytics. |
| wp_consent_functional, wp_consent_preferences, wp_consent_statistics, wp_consent_statistics-anonymous, wp_consent_marketing | Our website / WP Consent API: the same choices for participating components. | Up to 180 days. Rejection is not treated as analytics consent. |
| pll_language | Our website / Polylang: selected language. | Up to one year; not an advertising identifier. |
| _ga, _ga_8FLFKY0TX1 | Google Analytics: recognising browsers and sessions for statistics. | Google’s default is up to two years, browser-dependent; only with statistics consent. Google’s data retention is separate. |
| _gcl_au; other _gcl_ identifiers where applicable | Google: campaign attribution and measurement. | Typically up to 90 days; only with campaign consent. Appearance also depends on visits through ads. |
| _gcl_ls in local browser storage, if set | Google: local campaign measurement information. | Local storage has no general browser-enforced expiry. The intended cleanup removes it on withdrawal of measurement consent. |
| WordPress login and session cookies, such as wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_logged_in_* | Our website: editorial login, not general visitor analytics. | Test cookie for login; sessions depend on login and “Remember me”. Logging out ends the login. |
Google Advanced Consent Mode
In Advanced Mode, Google connections and measurement signals start before a choice and may continue after rejection or withdrawal without analytics/advertising cookies. Personal connection data may nevertheless be processed. Rejecting cookies therefore does not mean no data reach Google. Sections 8 and 11 of the privacy notice explain purposes, legal bases, recipients and objections. Without JavaScript, this integration loads no Google tag.
Forms and map
The newsletter form is displayed directly by our website, without an external Mailjet frame. Mailjet is connected server-side for confirmation and delivery. Turnstile loads only when the contact or newsletter form is submitted. A list of our own cookies does not fully describe external connections and browser checks. See our privacy notice and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Newsletter open and click tracking are disabled.
OpenStreetMap loads map images only after map consent. Withdrawal removes the map; previously downloaded images may remain in the browser cache. Fonts are self-hosted. External links open only when clicked.
Separate ticket shop
The ticket shop uses, among other technologies, “frontend” for basket and session (configured for 24 hours) and “mhacc_consent_v2” for its own privacy choice (up to 180 days). The museum website choice does not replace the shop choice. Its privacy notice provides further information.
